This year WMRS hosted two students from Puerto Rico for our Summer '05 Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program*. Nattasha Acevedo (University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez) worked with mentors John Smiley, Elizabeth Dahlhoff and Nathan Rank to study The Effects of Temperature and Elevation on the Willow Leaf Beetle Chrysomela aeneicollis and Two of its Main Predators, and Adianez Santiago (also UPR Mayagüez) worked with mentors Jeff Holmquist and Jutta Schmidt to study Species Richness and Abundance of Invertebrates Across a Subalpine Forest-Meadow Ecotone
